RI Foundation Chair: Gerri Wootten
Gerri has been a member of Rotary Club of West El Paso since 1993, an Honorary member of Rotary Club of Franklin Mountains since 1998, and a Paul Harris Fellow since 1995. She ia a Major Donor to The Rotary Foundation and a charter member of the Paul Harris Society. A native Texan, she has also lived in Germany and California. Her husband brought her into Rotary and they enjoyed being in the same club. He served as district governor in 1998-99 and she went to all the clubs with him. (She drove every one of the 22,000 miles.) She served as district secretary and newsletter editor while “on the road.” Since being widowed in 2004, Gerri has stayed active in club and district projects. Her past love was RYLA, but the girls wear her out. Now she spends her time “hustling” for The Rotary Foundation and convincing club members to be sustaining members. Gerri’s time is taken up by her many “rescue” animals (3 dogs and 6 cats), quilting, bowling, maintaining a small pecan farm (where she lives) and, of course, Rotary. She has two stepchildren and two grandchildren. She also has 3 sisters living in the same city, and many of their progeny. We have 4 generations in El Paso. Holidays are busy!
